🏁🐀 Life, the never-ending rat race

Evergreens!! 

Life's been one too many rat races this past year and I thought I should write something a little freeing.

To the yonder I embark
For in a rat race, I shan't be a part.
Of rolling dough and skipping stones
Give me life I pray I want!

May the best survive they say.
Survive through what? I ask and may
Lose my heart, my soul, this place
On unsteady ground, feeling quakes.

What I've built, never enough.
Always more they chant, they shout!
From the rooftops like a bard,
Mindless faces, mindless caws.

Think yourselves I ask, I plead.
What is it worth, neither you nor me
Have gained a happiness through this road.
All we have, a burdenous stone

Sitting within and dragging down
The entire world, this little town.
They understand at last their scars!
Give us life we crave they call.
